Adventures in Learning - Mpls. Community Education Older Adult Program
A humanities-centered program for older adults housed with Minneapolis School District's Community Education Program, Adventures in Learning offers a variety of humanities courses, mini-courses, lectures, and opportunities for intergenerational educational exchange with the Minneapolis Public Schools. Courses and programs are held throughout Minneapolis in sites that generally include community libraries, senior assisted living residences, and community centers.

Augsburg College of the Third Age
Founded in the mid 1970s by a small faculty group, Augsburg College of the Third Age aims to offer mature adults the opportunity to expand their learning options in the humanities and liberal arts. Programs are offered upon request at sites where mature learners meet or reside (community senior centers, churches and synagogues, assisted living homes, and senior residences).

Community Programs in the Arts (COMPAS)
COMPAS, Community Programs in the Arts, sponsors community programs in the arts that address a wide range of social issues, build a sense of community, and celebrate cultural diversity. Compleat Scholar Program
Over 200 unique learning opportunities without grades, exams or credit. Compleat Scholar is designed for adults, serious about the enjoyment of learning and the skills attained. Elderhostel Intergenerational Programs
Elderhostel now has 120 trips, many priced at just $500 a week, aimed at grandparents and grandchildren doing everything from exploring Irish mythology in Ireland to Colonial history in Williamsburg, Va., to biology on Galveston Island in Texas. Last year, 3,500 "hostellers," aged 55 and older, and over 2,000 young people participated in these programs.

Emeritus College - College of St. Scholastica
Emeritus College, an outreach program of The College of St. Scholastica, provides multi-session humanities courses to older adults in Duluth, Grand Marais, Two Harbors, and Virginia. Carefully designed by humanities consultants to be intellectually challenging, Emeritus College courses engage participants in discussion and collaborative learning. Contact S. Friends of the Minneapolis Public Library
The Friends of the Minneapolis Library's stated mission is to help make Minneapolis Public Libraries thriving community centers of intellectual discovery and lifelong learning. Each year the Libraries sponsor more than forty, no-cost educational programs involving national authors, local scholars, musicians, and artists.

Friends of the Saint Paul Libraries
The Friends of the Saint Paul Library is a nonprofit organization providing leadership and cultural programs for St. Paul's library system. Each year, the Friends sponsor nearly 60 no-cost cultural programs that include reading/discussions by local and national authors, lectures, and multi-media programs.

Glensheen/Historic Congdon Estate & Gardens, Duluth
Glensheen Mansion, located on Lake Superior in Duluth, is Minnesota's premier historic estate. Ongoing educational programs include interpreted tours that explore the history of the Congdon family, the mansion's builder, within the context of early 20th century Duluth.

Hennepin County Library
The suburban Hennepin County Library system provides services through 26 libraries, Hennepin eLibrary, the Children's Readmobile, deposit collections at nursing homes and correctional facilities, mail service to the homebound and extensive outreach services. Learning Club, The - Winona State University
A humanities-centered learning organization serving retired adults in the Winona area, The Learning Club offers to its members lectures, mini-courses, travel-and-study tours, and intergenerational service opportunities with Winona area K-12 and university students. MacPhail Center for the Arts
MacPhail Center for the Arts, located in Minneapolis, is a comprehensive community resource for education and performance experiences in the musical arts that includes people of all ages, abilities and economic circumstances. This organization offers a variety of music lessons, performance experiences, master classes and other opportunities for the entire family.

Northern Clay Center
The Northern Clay Center focuses on the advancement of the ceramic arts. Their exhibitions feature the work of contemporary ceramic artists and also historical and architectural ceramics. They offer classes for children and adults, lease studio space, and sell the work of many ceramic artists in their shop.

Split Rock Arts Program
The Split Rock Arts Program is the University of Minnesota's series of weeklong, residential workshops in creative writing, visual arts, design, and creativity enhancement. Held on the Twin Cities campus with retreat-style workshops at the Cloquet Forestry Center, 35-40 workshops are offered in June, July, and August of each year, serving artists of all interests, backgrounds, and skill levels.

Textile Center
This organization dedicates itself to promoting and preserving the excellence of textiles. It offers classes in textile media, such as knitting and dyeing, as do its member organizations, such as the Upper Midwest Bead Society and Contemporary Quilters. Individuals can also be members and receive various discounts as a result.
