Cass Gilbert Society, The
Incorporated in 1998, the Twin-Cities based Cass Gilbert Society is dedicated to the study and preservation of the life and works of acclaimed Minnesota architect Cass Gilbert. Each year the Society sponsors exhibits and lecture series on Gilbert and his works (e.g., the Minnesota State Capitol, the US Customs House in New York City).

Kairos Dance Theatre
Kairos Dance Theatre is a Minneapolis-based intergenerational dance company whose performers range in age from 4 to 90 years old. Led by Artistic Director, Maria Genne, Kairos performs locally and nationally, reaching intergenerational audiences in nursing homes, community centers, parks, libraries, and schools. Through its program, "The Dancing Heart: Vital Elders Moving in Community," Kairos Dance Theatre partners with community organizations to offer older adults and caregivers an interactive, creative experience that combines opportunities for artistic expression and learning with the health-enhancing benefits of dance and music. Program formats include workshops, residencies, and performances.

Loft Literary Center, The
The Loft Literary Center offers classes, programs, and services for readers and writers. Accomplished writers teach classes and workshops throughout the year. The Loft offers classes in poetry, short story, memoir, fiction, and many other forms. There are practical classes to introduce you to the realities of a writing career: working with agents, submitting to publishers, and more. There are no grades or academic requirements. Tuition is based on a sliding fee scale, with both scholarship and work-study opportunities available.

MacPhail Center for the Arts
MacPhail Center for the Arts, located in Minneapolis, is a comprehensive community resource for education and performance experiences in the musical arts that includes people of all ages, abilities and economic circumstances. This organization offers a variety of music lessons, performance experiences, master classes and other opportunities for the entire family.

Minnesota Artists Online
Minnesota Artists Online offers a way for Minnesota-based artists to gather and share their work with each other and the community at large. It is a free service where artists can post contact information and images of their work. The site was developed by a partnership between the McKnight Foundation and the Walker Art Center's New Media Initiatives group.

Minnesota Watercolor Society
The Minnesota Watercolor Society, one of the largest associations of watercolor artists in the Midwest, sponsors monthly meetings, a newsletter, exhibits, demonstrations, "paintouts," and workshops for artists of all ages.

Northern Clay Center
The Northern Clay Center focuses on the advancement of the ceramic arts. Their exhibitions feature the work of contemporary ceramic artists and also historical and architectural ceramics. Textile Center
This organization dedicates itself to promoting and preserving the excellence of textiles. It offers classes in textile media, such as knitting and dyeing, as do its member organizations, such as the Upper Midwest Bead Society and Contemporary Quilters.
