It operates in a similar way as a frequent flyer program operates-- volunteers are awarded AngelPoints for each hour of service performed. Founded in 1896, Volunteers of America of Minnesota is one of the oldest, largest and most comprehensive human service organizations in the state. They are an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) with more than 60 programs, 700 employees and 4,000 volunteers. A wide variety of programs serve more than 27,000 children, adolescents and their families, older adults, students, persons with disabilities and special needs, and ex-offenders each year.
