Experience Corps
Experience Corps is a unique national program started in 1995 to mobilize the time, talent, and experience of older adults in service to communities. The initial focus has been connecting older adults with children and youth. Experience CorpsĀ® currently provides schools and youth-serving organizations with a critical mass of caring older adults to: 1) Improve academic performance and development of young people; 2) Help schools and youth-serving organizations become more caring places; 3) Strengthen ties between these institutions and surrounding neighborhoods; and 4) Enhance the well-being of the volunteers in the process.

Faith in Action
Faith in Action is a national volunteer movement that brings together community organizations and religious congregations of various faiths to assist people who are aging and chronically ill with everyday activities enabling them to maintain their independence. Global Volunteer Network
The Global Volunteer Network is a non profit organization that places volunteers in community projects in China, Ecuador, Ghana, Nepal, New Zealand, Romania, Russia, Thailand, and Uganda. Volunteers have the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational, environmental and community aid programs. Examples of the exciting and rewarding activities available to volunteers include teaching English, environmental work, AIDS education, and assisting in an orphanage.

The National Senior Service Corps is a network of three projects (Foster Grandparent program, Senior Companion Program, and Retired Senior Volunteer Program). RSVP of Minnesota
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) helps people age 55 and older put their skills and life experience to work in their communities. RSVP volunteers serve in organizations that range from hospitals and youth recreational centers to local police stations and education facilities. Senior Companions Programs
The Senior Companion Program offers seniors age 60 and older the opportunity to serve individuals who have difficulty with daily living tasks. Senior Companions serve many at-risk frail elderly who might be living in a nursing home without this one-to-one support. Volunteers serve from 12-20 hours per week and receive meal and travel benefits along with a small tax-free stipend.

Senior Service Corps of Minnesota
The Minnesota Senior Corps is part of the National Senior Corps and part of the Corporation for National and Community Service. The Senior Corps is a network of more than half a million seniors who are making a difference as Foster Grandparents (FG), Senior Companions (SC), and Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) volunteers. These programs tap the experience, skills, talents, interests, and creativity of seniors age 55 and over.

Founded in 1896, Volunteers of America of Minnesota is one of the oldest, largest and most comprehensive human service organizations in the state. They are an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) with more than 60 programs, 700 employees and 4,000 volunteers. A wide variety of programs serve more than 27,000 children, adolescents and their families, older adults, students, persons with disabilities and special needs, and ex-offenders each year.
