Get to Know VAN's New Leadership Group Members
he Vital Aging Network is excited to add four new members to our Leadership Group. The Leadership Group consists of experienced leaders who volunteer their time and work to achieve the mission of the organization. VAN extends a warm welcome to Barbara Aman, Tracy Godfrey, Mary Quirk, and Grit Youngquist. Get to know two of our new members, Tracy Godfrey and Grit Youngquist.
The Vital Aging Network would like to introduce you to two new members of its leadership group. Please join VAN in warmly welcoming Tracy Godfrey and Grit Youngquist.
Tracy Godfrey 
Having worked in human resources for Fortune 500 companies in the Twin Cities for the past 25 years, Tracy Godfrey’s career has focused on recruiting and selecting candidates, encouraging diversity, and working in managerial and consulting roles. He currently is vice-chair of Wells Fargo’s Minnesota Boomer Connection, a resource group for employees.
In addition to his role on the VAN Leadership Group, Tracy serves on the education committee for Project for Pride in Living (PPL). He has a particular interest in how boomers will shape their work in the future and how employers can best take advantage of this pool of talent.
Tracy likes to travel, run, and bike. A native of Saint Paul and lifelong resident of Minnesota, he now resides in Golden Valley.
Grit Youngquist
Grit Youngquist has focused her career on public health, particularly on promoting the health and well-being of young people. She has worked in community-based organizations as well as in state, county, and local levels of government. Since 1989, she has worked for Saint Paul - Ramsey County Public Health. Grit holds a master’s degree in human development from St. Mary’s University, concentrating in adolescent development and sexuality education.
Grit lives with her husband, Jon, in Saint Paul and is actively involved in her community. For 12 years, Grit and Jon have co-led a grassroots group, Friends of Lilydale Park. With several neighbors, they recently cofounded FAB! (Friends and Amigos of Baker Community Center!), a group dedicated to saving the local recreation center and converting it into a vibrant community center. She serves on the Minnesota Department of Health’s Maternal and Child Health Advisory Task Force and is a member of ISLA’s (Interfaith Service to Latin America’s) data work group.
Her interests and activities include spending time with her family, friends, dogs and cat. She enjoys traveling (especially to Nicaragua), reading, running, yoga, biking, kayaking, and being outdoors.
